that players really are only worth what their book value says they're worth, if that was so then nobody would ever be able to sell any player for a profit, but i don't think you do believe that, so your deliberate misrepresentation of the facts is a little naughty imo... :-P

going back to our discussion from last night, i don't think that players signed on a free, come throught the academy, sign a new contract once their old one has run out, have a book value as an intangible asset. i think if it were to be the total cost of their contract we'd have to do that for those signed for a fee plus the cost of their contract too, after all, accounts are very much about consistancy.
