What is a bit scary is...

...that one of the less savoury characters is still alive and living in Berlin, and one of the real nasty ones was still alive and living in Aken (near Duesseldorf) until 1998. Aken is only a small town and I was there on numerous occasions when I had a girlfriend from Maastricht from 96-99. Freaky when you see what he did during the war and how close he was to Hitler, and then think that I may well have walked past him.

I know that's a bit irrational but it still makes it that much more human and reminds you that what happened wasn't all that long ago...
