of this board when we've had a disappointing game or two. Some people perfectly legitimately raise worries/doubts and many of you then just slag them off for having the absolute temerity to say anything critical.
The facts are that Roeder has turned an absolute shambles into something considerably better but not into something we can really be proud of. We play pretty football sometimes but this season our end product has been woeful. Now you can say it's because we haven't got a goalscorer if you like but the reason we haven't is Roeder.
Don't tell me we missed out on Paterson because Burnley are more attractive than Norwich!
I'm not overly critical YET but let's get one or two things straight - this is Roeder's team - he signed the players, he chose to go down the (excessive) loan route, he got rid of Huckerby, he is the one who has failed to sign a proper striker and , perhaps most worryingly, he is the one who gave the captain's armband to a player who he refuses to drop who wasn't good enough to make it in Switzerland.
He kept us up, yes, but since then his work has been far from convincing and there are plenty of other clubs in the Championship (Blackpool, Burnley, Preston) who are just as strapped as we are who are doing a lot better.
How can we stuff Plymouth as we did and then stand still? Look what they've done since. Unbelievable.
I think, for what it's worth, that Roeder likes to look a shrewd player in the transfer market with his much-vaunted 'book of contacts' but he isn't actually a very good motivator.
