I don't think they are miles apart in the way they can play, although the Doc (as you say) is a lot more inexperienced and is nowhere near as vocal. I also think that the way he looks does him no favours. If Shacks had played the same on Saturday, I bet he'd have got much less stick.

Play the Doc alongside a more dominant player and behind a decent midfield and you'll see a much better performance. Unfortunately Flem is too busy covering his own faults these days to help the player next to him.
