Barnsley Today

We went to Barnsley today for our first away game of the season. There was much confidence that we'd be able to get three points at the team who were bottom of the league. Overall, not a great performance. Barnsley constricted the play, and our midfield didn't really have the creativity to do anything with the ball. Also there was very little width.

Marshall, good penalty save, but then again it was so poor from Macken. Defensively we looked ok. Midfield, not great. Crofty was fine, looked dangerous when running. Set-pieces were pretty poor overall, at least beat the first man. Siberski, great chance in the first half, but little else.

In conclusion, defensively fine, but we need to be more penetrative from midfield and need to score goals. Need the Sibi - Lupoli partnership to click

The announcer announced there were 1,400 away fans, looked a lot more. It was nice and sunny, but I feel that this was 2 points dropped, rather than a good away point.
