Read it again a few years later and got more from it.
Easier to love then probably.
Can re-read it now and still enjoy it, but that's probably a Star Wars effect.
I don't see the flaws because at 13 you don't so I just enjoy it without judgement.
(the same way my young nephews love the new star wars trilogy - they don't give a f**k about continuity errors).
THat said, I have also read the Silmarillion. Fuck me. Now THAT was hard work.
Amazing book though in terms of the depth of folk lore Tolkien created around Middle Earth.
