Here's how I imagine Poyet and Wise working together.

POYET: Right, for this game, we're going to go 4-3-1-2. I want three holding midfielders, with No 4 sitting the furthest back, just in front of the defence, making tackles and then laying simple passes to the other two midfielders, who I want to push out left and right.

No 8 will be the 1 - your job is to link the midfield and attack. It's basically a free role but stay in the centre and join the attack when we're pushing forward. One of the holding midfielders can support when we're attacking.

As for marking, I want strict man-to-man - League One isn't the place for zonal marking - and two of our holding midfielders to be back helping out whenever we defend.

Keep the passing short and to feet, and I think we've got the players to win this match.
