but...............

the reason the atmoshpere was so poor was the lack of excitement on the pitch. I know the referee didn't help but the overall standard of football and lack of goal-mouth action didn't help get the crowd going. Also there's a lot of criticism on here for the people voicing their concerns particularly after one game. I can see their point but if you witnessed some of the pre-season games it does make you worry. Just because a game is a friendly it doesn't hide the fact that your midfield can't pass. Work rate is all well and good but there's no substitute for skill.
