- A Fleming/Docherty partnership
- Charlton in midfield
- Hughes seems as bad as people said he would be
- Hucks just kicked off the ball every time
- Crowd not really supporting the team
and
- Absolutely no midfield for the entire 90 minutes.
Not a very impressive performance at all:
Green - One great save but gave posession away too often searching for Hucks
Louis-Jean - Often left gaps - not very convincing
Flem - After his ludicrous booking was probably our best defender
Doherty - Afraid to say it, but he was useless - concedes far too many free kicks
Drury - Okish - usually takes time to settle
Marney - Best player alongside Leon - looks a good signing
Hucks - Out of sorts, no support
Hughes - Poor touch, poor awareness - decent effort though
Charlton - Tried hard but not a midfielder
Ashton & Leon - Did their best with long balls all day.
On that performance, by far our most important players this season will be Shackell and Safri - we had no cohesion in defence and no presence in midfield. Our three strikers need balls to feet not chest/head high with their backs to goal.
Hopefully the wake up call we need - not really looking forward to the Crewe game now.
