i have been and to an extent still am very loyal to delia. she has saved the club and improved many aspects. i am grateful that i believe she did everything, even her mistakes for the best motives. she never in my opinion had a profit motive or was a carpet bagger.
however
... the club is losing serious money and will do so for the forseeable future. loans are papering over the cracks but slowly we are having a team in which only a handful of players "belong" to us, and soon we will be a reserve premiership team. we need serious investment. not 1.5m here or there, but serious money
i would say 3m for this years shortfall alone, plus 10m on players to wean ourselves off our loan habit.
then 15m next year to launch a promotion push.
i was against these millionaire investors as i feel its like a form of cheating. but the club is slowing dying and its now the only way. even promotion would not solve our problems.
so thank you delia, you have been a star, but now retire, keep your executive box and get some investor who has the money and an understanding of the club. peter cullum is the only game in town. so many people hang on too long and spoil their legacy.
