Pure conjecture and based on nothing but a hunch.
How about this. Cullum has never had any intention of taking over this club. Fed up of always being asked in interviews despite adamantly saying that he wasn't interested, constant speculation in the press everytime City's finances are scrutinised, being invited to meals by MPs with hidden agendas to get him to spunk all his hard earned fortune on the Canaries' plight.
To end all this specualation he puts in a seriously undervalued bid for complete control of the club which cannot possibly accepted by Delia & co. Goes to Archant who splash it all over their rag. Gets hailed as a local hero, plus gets loads of free publicity for Towergate at the sametime, and puts an end to all the speculation.
This is based purely on the notion that investing in a football club is madness, reserved for those who have more money than sense. I believe Cullum has equal amounts of sense and money which has enabled him to accumalate his wealth, therefore, to provide a bottomless purse of cash for the club which is dipped into everytime the fans demand that the current playing staff is not good enough and in need of an upgrade, would be considered highly unappealing. I think to do this would just be a romantic notion, which I believe is to whimsical for the 'King of Deals.
Unfortunately this has backfired as now the Turners have unexpectedly done a Matthew Gibson, and it's gone full circle again.
Probably a load of bollocks but worth contemplating.
