Brilliant game

Should have won. First game of the season pour moi and I am certainly much more encouraged that I was this time last year. We play a lovely passing game, only problem being we seem to run out of ideas around the box. Also the need for a big man is evident - Russell does the job well for a midfielder but we need his tenacity in the midfield (preferably in place of Fotheringham, who is about the only player in the first team I don't really rate). Hoolahan was thrilling but did have a few lapses in concentration that could have proved costly. Also a bit greedy I thought. Clingan, tick, Matty Patty, tick. Defence is oh-so-better than last year - watching a Norwich side play the ball out of trouble is a refreshing change. And finally, Bertrand is a class act. He may have given away the foul that lead to their goal, but that was one of very few mistakes. His delivery is top drawer.

In conclusion, all the doommongery is ridiculous. We patently have a much better side than we have for several years, and they will only get better. Especially with a proven goalscorer.
