It really hit home to me during our year in the prem

I'm about the same age as you so I am sure that like me your early experiences of watching Norwich were mainly when we were a top flight side and a damn good one. i remmber going down to Carrow Road for home games and whether we were playing Man United, Arsenal or Chelsea I ould expect us to win and more often than not we did. Ok we weren't a big club and every so often we sold one of our better players but we woudl just go and get a replacement for about ?100K who more often than not would turn out to be better.

Last time when we got up to the prem it was miserable and after half a dozen games it dawned on me when walking to the ground that even if we played as well as we possibly could we woudl probably lose. We will never get back to where we were in the late 80's or early 90's and that is depressing.

Slightly different point to the sanitisation of the atmosphere point but its all interlinked.

People are dropping away quite quicjkly if you ask me. " years ago we would regularly have 20 or 30 of us on a coach/train for an away game and it was a great crack. These days for most games there are 2 car loads of us if we're lucky.

Part of its the current situation at NCFC. Part of its the atmosphere at games but a large part of it is just that its not as good as it used to be!

I won't ever give up but if I ever settle down I will probably find it much easier than I previously thought to miss a lot more games!
