Certainly is Kev, point well made. When teams like

Wigan have a reserve team better than first teams in the Fizzy (well certainly the vast majority) you know that football is quickly disappearing up its own backside. What it also shows is just how many football 'stars' will prefer to take the big money and play reserve football rather than first team in the fizzy. It's really got me questioning my commitment to the game, I don't blame my club but the Premiership has totally shafted the game and it'll only get worse. What's left is that we good folks of the lower leagues have to get used to watching sub-standard football played out in the main by over-paid sub-standard premiership reserve players who, with their loan status, don't have the long term commitment to a club. If you think I'm disillusioned you're dead right and my sympathy goes out the the Boards of all the clubs in the lower leagues because it must be incredibly difficult to assemble a decent squad. That said, it ain't all roses in the Prem either. For the majority all their playing for is to avoid relegation and a apart from the top four the rest are playing for nowt. Teams like Villa, Spurs, Newcastle etc. etc. are realistically playing for nowt. The only benefit of the Prem is to SKY hence why I won't subscribe. And one other very depressing thing, just came back from USA and saw many Americans (not English) wearing either Man. Utd or Arsenal shirts. Part of the great globalisation of 'brands' and the further demise of English footy.
