700 of us showed up according to a steward at half time who also said they are always thrilled to host Norwich. Now despite my initial disappointment at the turn out it was bank holiday, people are skint and we are going through a bumpy little patch
Anyway the fans made some good noise especially when we were 1 down for the first 20mins of the second half... no sign of the idiots who I saw at MKDons
Onto the match for such a long time it was a case of same old same old
Big mistake at the start I think it was Stefanovic who completely missed the ball that allowed the Cardiff forward through and once he cut inside I knew the ball was gonna end up in the back of the net. We then proceeded to push the ball around nicely and Matty P won a pen (like the Cardiff one i've seen em given and not given)
Cureton stepped forward an proceeded to push his only shot of the match wide, although he had a few nice touches I can't see him starting again. Despite missing the pen we continued to play nicely but again lacked the killing ball or edge, although I have to say in the 1st half Russell impressed me as did Pattison. Cardiff did threaten on a few occasions and although I think we shaded possession Cardiff threatened much more then we did
Hoolahan was replaced by Crofty @ half time and I think his more direct approach helped, not sure if Hoolahan was replaced as he kept drifting inside or picked up a knock (i'd like to see him stay wider)
After 15mins of second half despite the best effort of the travelling "masses" I seemed to be transported into a time warp which reminded me of Norwich under John Deehan, nice approach play but will continue to lose. We then went two down 3pens in 3 games wtf is that about ?
Anyway we didn't sit down and die kept plugging away with Pattison, Croft & Clingan looking good. Not really sure what happened with our first but everyone seemed to stop as the ball fell to Lupoli it hit the net and the ground went silent only when the linesman proceeded to run to the halfway line did I realise we'd scored, nice consolation @ least we scored
Anyway Crofty continued to cause trouble down the right and put in a peach of a cross for Lupoli to score what looked like a superb diving header, cue absolute carnage in the away end
We rocked and Patty headed off the line when the ball was smashed toward the goal, but we held out
I think this could just be the thing that we need to kick start the season, the bench went mental when we equalised and the players and fans gave each other a good send off at the end. Its a start now for Arthur to have a decent partner
