From left field a bit, if true, but here's my 2p.
Chris started off at Man City and did reasonably well for their reserves until Keggy had the brainwave of putting him at the back, which he was not thrilled about. Finally, he got another crack up front and scored 6 goals in 2 games, earning him a free transfer!
He ended up at Oldham a had a pretty stop-start time of it until a new manager came in and didn't like the look of him, so he was freed again.
He then turned up at Hibs where he had probably the best spell of his career; in a pretty free-attacking side he scored like an oversexed rabbit on Viagra. Strong in the air (6'2" from memory), he can score with either foot from inside and outside the box. He is most definitely not shy of a tackle either, and earns a fair number of yellow and red cards. In fact, he is a bit too combative; this has earned him a few injuries (Shin down to the bone, etc). His spell at Hibs ended with a snapped achillies and by the time it was repaired he was out of contract. Hibs offered him a new one, but instead he was set up to go to Cardiff on substantially more wonga until Celtic came in at the last moment and offered more than twice Cardiff's offer. I don't know if he ever expected to become a fixture in the Celtic side, but as the man himself said, the money was quite simply far too good to turn down.
One possible reason for his lack of success at Celtic - other than some pretty handy players ahead of him - is that he always needs a few games to get going. Once he's at full throttle though, look out. He will run through brick walls for the side and, given the service, score goals.
