What I intend to do is this:

Get a mid-afternoon Eurostar from London to Paris and aim to get there around 18:00 ish. Then get the 20:32 sleeper from Paris to Barcelona and slum it in a Couchette.

I'll fly back with Ryanair to Bournemouth as it is cheap and not too far from where I live.
