I've got one of those "I do not buy or sell at this door" things on my front door and you'd be astounded by the number of people who are subsequently surprised by my slightly negative reaction to being asked if I want to buy something.

The ones that really piss me off are the gas and electric ones who insist "it's not a sales call" until I ask "so a possible outcome of this conversation is not that I would sign something involving paying money for a good or service, is that right?" then they go all quiet.
