Don't be silly. Just because someone on a Newcastle message board says he earns ?30k a week doesn't make it so.
?30,000 a week on a 2 year deal, plus the fee of ?1.5 mill that has been quoted, plus fees and levies the cost of the player is around ?5 million. Even on the most charitable view of what Evans has put in Scum aren't in that market. Neither are we - yet Roeder expressed an interest - and he most certainly does know what Ameobi earns.
And even if we had the Cullum ?20 million would we really piss a quarter of it away on a player with a dodgy hip who hasn't scored all for 22 months?
