A few views on yesterday

First up the scarves, blue on one side was a bit of a mistake on Avivas part but nice of them to make the gesture, shame they couldn't manage to give everyone in the ground one and tell them to wave them as the players came out a la Newcastle last season.

Team selection, just about right, i would have started with OJ instead of JC and was a bit deflated when the midfield lined up with such little width, Wes was often too far inside, pattison had a good game, he's not the best player but tried hard yesterday.

There was pressure from the fans from the off and the people around me commented on it, unless we got an early goal i knew it'd be a hard afternoon and it was, why was marshall hoofing it all first half in the general direction of the strikers, it was until we had equalised that he started playing a short ball to stefanovic of kennedy, that's what he should do, we have no height and yes we won a few second balls but on the whole the long ball just wastes possession. Passing on the floor like Cov first half and after rusty scored is the way forward.

Other than giving the ball away leading to the penalty i thought Kennedy was immense.

A comment on Rusty, i am not his biggest fan but yesterday he made an impact, was physical competant on the ball and had a good game, i feel he is definatley a home player as he cost us a lot last year away from home, i was miffed when he came so highly in the player of the season but if he plays like that as home i can see why.

How wes was motm i don't know, i thought he had a pretty poor match.

Everyone in our team needs to be told that when they have a sight of goal 25 yards out or closer to SHOOT, fotheringham, wes, cuerton, lupoli and clingan were all guilty of this.

I heard the chants of huckerbys name and Iwan's and can understand it, we play some good football when we put it on the deck but can't score and when you're paying ?25 to get in i can understand it, i wasn't amongst them i never boo and i try to get behind the team and leave ranting to on here.

Anyway here's looking to another good away day on saturday and here's hoping we get a striker similar to Iwelumo who's got off to a belter at the golden side of scum.
