The board have huge impact on the quality of the football - because they appoint the manager, sanction signings within a set budget, and if they do their job well, will hopefully preside over a gradually rising budget too. Christ - do you honestly think Arsenal, say, have got where they have by pure fluke? Or conversely, that Newcastle's general incompetence over many years had nothing to do with the buffoon that was Freddy Shepherd?
I've seen your retraction above: thankyou for that. The trouble is, though, that unlike your namesake (who is, of course, no longer an MP), you're neither funny or entertaining: just arrogant to those who disagree with your point of view. Which is a pity, not least because it does the legend that is Boris Johnson something of a disservice.
