So from that, I assume if we just finished 21st every year, you'd be OK with it?

I'll give the examples again. Wolves, Sheffield United, Palace, Ipswich. All up there regularly - and none of them seem to have this "we have to give a manager at least three years, and only then will we have a chance of challenging" thing either. Palace have zoomed into contention within months under two managers in recent years!
