My reaction on hearing of his appointment was to utter a succint "oh, for f**k's sake". I got it wrong over Roeder, mind you. And pants: when assessing the ability of someone in business, do you not pay any attention to their track record? Or do you just wipe the slate clean when a disaster of their own making has been narrowly avoided?
Jim Duffy's record in management is shocking - absolutely shocking. And the three games in which he was in charge could very easily have been the difference between staying up and going down. That's part of the board's record, and this is hardly kneejerk on my part: it's based on 12 years of mediocrity and at times out and out failure.
