Dinghy Racing is HARD work

That's why the people at the top of the sport are young and fit. You also need to be able to fully concentrate for the entire race.

The start is crucial. You have to hit the right end of the line at full speed as the gun goes off. Too soon and you can be disqualified too late and you get a load of useless used wind.

You then have to decide which side of the course to go up, where the wind is most likely to come from, keep clear of other boats etc etc.

You work all of your body. An hour of sailing a racing dinghy is harder than playing a bx to box central midfield role.
