View after today's performance

So the usual pre-season optimism, confident that we would be challenging for the play offs, has been sucked out of me? Well no, not really. I'm actually pretty positive!

Yes, we should have beaten an 'ordinary' Coventry team today. But having reflected on the afternoon for a while there are some real and tangible positives:

1. The Team IS so much better, more balanced, energetic and passionate than it was 6 months ago. The additions of Wes, Dejan and Lupoli underline that (I must say I'm reallly disappointed that we let Martin and Jarvis go, not).

2. We created many chances and on another day could have scored 3 or 4. Coventry succeeded due to a dodgy looking pen and a scrambled goal. Today we had our chances and did not take them...

3. The Big old fashioned centre forward we so desperately need (whoever he may be) will be with us shortly and that will make a world of difference.

4. Roeder's doing a solid job, taking his time, to slowly but surely rebuild our fabulous club. He's gotten rid of the dead wood, the holiday camp is no more, the juniors are now cleaning their own boots etc. Real leadership from the top of the organisation. Roeder's bringing a good mix of players with experience, raw talent, pace, hunger and not a little ability. Yes, we could have spent x?M on x 'big name strikers' but clearly thats no guarantee (look at Eastwood and Morrison today - f*cking rubbish!).

In short we all need to pull together and get behind the roland revolution, negativity does not help anyone in any sphere of life, it just sucks the energy out of everyone else.
