if they got into the Prem they could challenge the big four

Not with their current playing squads obviously. But they have huge fanbases (especially Celtic) and at the moment are held back by the limitations of Scottish TV money (and SPL prestige) but if they got into the Prem they'd get Prem money and the Prem prestige would make it easier to attract quality players. They would become a lot stronger than they are now.
