Interesting post on Pink Un site

Right, I got back an hour or so ago from lovely Norfolk and am glad to say I enjoyed today thoroughly! Despite some early hitches (aka. the weather) the photo did go ahead as planned. There were about twenty of us in total, ranging from 4/5 year olds to OAP's! So seeing as this was part of my 18th birthday present, I felt relatively youthful with some of the elders taking a part in the experience, something I was hoping would happen as the thought of it being me and a bunch of toddlers was not all that appealing!

The guys who showed us to the photo call and gave us the ground tour were brilliant, knew their stuff, kept us entertained as we had to wait for the photo call to begin for the best part of two hours due to the rain. Eventually, at half past two the players came out onto the pitch and we made our way to the lower Barclay, where we would wait until we were called to be pictured with the squad. I genuinely felt my legs go funny as I walked over to the first team, all those players looking at me. But I managed to walk over to my seat, shaking Glenn Roeder's hand and sitting, he was very friendly and talkative, as were every single member of the squad. There seems to be a close connection with them all, they seemed like best friends, even the new signings such as OJ and Kennedy. The photo call itself was brief, as they had to fit all the fans into the picture while it was pouring down.

After though I managed to talk to Glenn and some of the team, and was able to ask some of my own and your questions, so here it is: (the questions and answers are all genuine, I have cut the conversation down to the important bits)

(To Glenn Roeder)...

KB: Glenn, are we going to sign Shola Ameobi from Newcastle?

Glenn: I am not one to rule anything in or out to the fans but all I will say is keep your eyes peeled in the next 48 hours for an announcement from the Club.

KB: Great, will do. So what was your stance on the whole Peter Cullum scenario?

Glenn: It isnt for me to say, I just work with the funds that I am handed, and thus far the board have backed me with all my plans.

KB: Fair due's, what do you think of Peter Grant?

Glenn: I honestly feel he did his very best for the football club and knowing him as an individual I know he will become a very good manager at a good level, but whether he was ready for such an independant role at a football club of Norwich's stature at that point in time is debatable.

KB: Where do you honestly think Norwich will finish in the Championship this season?

Glenn: We have a squad more than capable of finishing much higher up the table than last season, and I'd like to think if we make a couple more signings before the window closes, which I am confident we will do, we are in a good stance to mount a bid to get into the top 8 and beyond.

KB: Some people are labelling Matty Pattison as "Fatty Matty Patty" after some of his performances from last season and this current pre season, what do you think his best position is and why do you think he is capable of playing at this level?

Glenn: Matty had problems last season, that is no lie. But in training day in, day out, he impresses me and definately deserves to be in my thoughts for the first team. He made many good appearances for us last season and he is confident he can build on that this season. What fans think of him is up to them but like I said he trains as well as any of the other lads at this football club and is a good player at this level.

All there is true, I was talking to him for about 5 minutes, he's a great man, really fan-orientated, had time for all of us. The way he talks you instantly feel that what he says is true and honest. Really enjoyed my day at CR, thanks to those who wished me a nice day too!
