I've actually tried that but I forgot to mention it, still no joy,

the file I downloaded has some sort of encryption on it to stop me from using to on filesharing programs due to it's "sensitive" nature. What happens is when I play it in quicktime, I get the audio but not video, and when I play it in VLC, I get nothing.
