The difference is, a grumble doewn the pub doesnt equate to a permanent stream of opinion that is posted, and reported on, on message boards.

The phrase 'citizen journalist' kind of captures it. Before there was pub talk, and a select few people who wrote for the press. Now we have constant opinion - and by nature the most outspoken are the dissenters.

My big problem is when the vocal minority are so f**king ignorant that they whip up a storm out of nothing (pre-season friendly blubbing being a fine example)
