yes and no

I think mostly the game showed the huge gulf between Premiership and Championship levels.

First half we looked good, and held our own. We simply fell apart second half.

I thought defensively we did okay until Bertrand went off, and Pattison was completely exposed by Lennon in the second half. Our midfield couldn't live with Spurs today, and at times it reminded me of when we were in the Prem a few years back, struggling just to get near the ball. Fotheringham is clearly no where near as good as he thinks he is, and I doubt he could live in the Premiership. Clingon is not a Premiership player, but then we all knew that was likely coming from League 1 so it'd be unfair to write him off already. Russel will never be a Prem player and it showed. Proven at Champ level though. Hoolanhan showed some nice touches and I think will prove to be an excellent signing. Croft showed good industry as usual and was one of our better players.

And finally I thought Cureton had a thankless task. Playing up front on your own at pub level with s**te service is hard work, but when playing up front on your own with s**te service against internationals is impossible. Although the poor service had more to do with the fact that the Premiership is a huge chasm for our players at the moment.

In sum, you can't read too much into tonight's performance. Yes some players will probably feel down tonight as they could've done better, but spurs were light years better than us. Thankfully we'll be playing Derby this season, who lost almost every week last season, like we would if we were in the Premiership this season. That's the message to take I think.
