Sure its WW2 but brief Dereham report

All in all a pretty poor performance and can't begrudge Dereham their victory. One or two signs of promise from a couple of players but in general simply confirms for me that there is nobody likely to break into the first team this season. Player ratings/comments:

Leyton Orient loan bloke: Did ok. No cock-ups and a couple of reasonable saves.

RB: Cooper - reasonably tidy and made some good runs but carrying a bit of puppy fat.

CB: Stephens - he is huge but not quite as strong as his size and not as dominant in the air as one might expect. i suspect though that will come with time. Looked quite good on a couple of occasions when he brought the ball out from the back but did not do it enough.

CB: Small bloke with black hair. Tidy on the ball but not nearly bi enough for CB.

LB: Eagle - dogsh*t. He won't get another contract.

LW: Lappin - for 10 minutes looked good then faded and did very little.

CM: Corey Smith - for 20 minutes probably te most prominant player on the pitch but faded and needs more pyhsical presence.

CM - Adeyemi - for me the pick of the bunch. Quiet at first but got better as the game went on. Needs to fill out a bit as quite wirey at the moment but when he does I think w have a decent player on our hands.

RM - Chadwick - amongst this lot you would hope he would stand out. He didn't particularly.

CF - Martin - took goal well and made some good runs and did some good touches. Still however leaves you feeling he could be giving another 5%.

CF - Renton - not sure if he is still recovering from his injury but it looked like he is as he looked totally acking in sharpness.

Subs - not sure who they all were as the useless bloke on the tannoy kept giving out the wrong names but a bloke who came on at right back called George something looked very classy (albeit young). Daley has got pace so could make it if he can add strength to his game but is not ready for the first team yet.

Crowd 1,100. Nicky Howell got both goals for Dereham and generally looked as good as any of our current youth players!
