They were on the bones of their arse when they appointed Boothoyd and there was talk of administration before he miraculously pulled promotion out of his arse.
Southampton are a proper train-wreck; the amount of s**t that they are in - and bear in mind that a number of fairly serious parties have attempted to take them over and dropped them like ton of bricks when they saw the books - is a perpetual source of astonishment to me that the banks haven't pulled the pin, because there is no hope on this earth of them paying off their debt. How they have avoided administration at the very least is nothing short of a miracle.
