You may recall that the oldest had blundered into being an Ipswich fan when he was 5 - it started as a tease against me and then it became serious because it coincided with their season in the sun in the Prem when they finished 5th or something

So I consciously turned him into a Chelsea fan (pre Ambramovich) by getting his godfather to take him to Stamford Bridge. It was better than having a scum fan, and it's our nearest team except Fulham so he's able to go.

He still remembers saying to Mrs Git "Daddy said he'd throw me out of the house if kept on supporting Ipswich - I THINK he was joking, wasn't he?"
