The thing is

the reason most house purchases drag on is because these 'solicitors', or dozy-twotbunts as I like to call them, arse around for ages doing nothing. So, for them to advise clients to put a time limit on exchange/completion seems a bit rich.
Can't you get their dozy-twotbunt's address and go and put dogpoo through the letterbox?
