v simple

Norwich's spread is 62 - 64 points.

Say you think we'll get more points than that. Then you *buy* - say at a pound a point.

Then for every point more than 64 we get at the end of the season, you win a pound. But for every point less than 64 we get, you lose a pound.

Say you've done that, but the season starts really badly and it becomes clear that we're not going to get 64 points.

You can close out your position at any point - but the spread will have been shifting down, and you'll suffer a loss according to how much the spread has shifted down.
