I thought he said "who's he?"

Which is scarcely plausible as anyone who knew anything about football would know who he was and that he played for Derby when they got promoted.

So I interpreted his comment as meaning there may be some truth in it but he wants to keep it quiet as presumably a fair few other clubs would be interested.
