umm Hughes said the other day...............

When he was chatting informally afterwards one of the reporters asked him about (pre Hughes) reports that Ched might be sold. Hughes said categorically: "Ched is not for sale. He is a major talent and if he continues to develop as he has over the last 18 months or so he is a massive asset and will be a major player for this club and for Wales. He will not be sold."

He was then asked if Ched would go out on loan again this season. Hughes said he had not decided and went on to say: "There are a number of good young players and Ched is among those that I want to have a closer look at in pre season and then decide on my options, remembering that this year we are allowed seven substitutes which could give a platform to a young player to take their Premier League chance without putting too much on their shoulders at once. So I have to consider all those things, our European commitments and the fact that I have two players away at the Olympics as well.

"As things stand I don't see me taking a decision on Ched or any of our youngsters before mid to late August. We have a lot of work to do between now and then and I shall not rush into a decision. Let's see what the next few weeks bring."

Hughes also mentioned that "eight or nine" Championship clubs had asked about Ched being on loan, adding: "He's a very popular young man and naturally gifted so I would expect that level of interest."

Maybe we could try to get him in January if he's not getting a game.
