Crap ending.

Stone told Ben his best chance of getting out was to go for a mis-trial citing the junior barrister's "improper relations".

So he did that.

In the meantime Pete Postlethwaite strangled the identity of the real murderer (you never find out who, to the best of my memory) out of the black gangster running the prison - he writes a letter to the Old Bill, and the boy is found innicoent - but he's already got out because of the mis-trial. Junior Barrister's career is ruined.

Pete Postlethwaite is held down and given an OD of heroin, which is treated as suicide by compliant prison officers.

Fin.

Terrible. Waste of a week after a s**t ending like that.
