Just for Charles 21, I'm going to give you an excerpt from the worst sports interview

I have ever seen. This is from 'Over Land and Sea' (OLAS), a West Ham fanzine, from December 1989, just after Justin Fashanu had turned up for a trial. This is presented exactly how it appears in the fanzine.

OLAS: O.K. well weve heard all sorts of stories regarding contracts, what sort of contract are you looking at?..
JF: What sort of contract am I looking at?
OLAS: Yes what sort of one are you after?..
JF: Well I'm just looking to get into the first team if I can and go on from there.
OLAS: So you just want to get into the first team and bang a few goals away?
JF: Yeah that's about it I think contracts and things will look after themselves if I can get into the team.
OLAS: Well what are you really after just any old situation you can take? Every game as it comes?

OLAS: How did you enjoy scoring that goal just now?
JF: It was great fun
OLAS: It must be great to score on your debut?
JF: Yeah it was good
OLAS: Anyway how are your injuries shaping up?
JF: I feel fit and strong. I had a very slight twinge during the game but that's nothing.
OLAS: So your feeling alright and training o.k.?
JF: Yes I'm fine and training well
OLAS: So your'e twisting and turning and shaking it all about alright then?

Over Land and Sea - no longer putting searching questions to Hammers trialists, as far as I know.
