we've got to generate income?
As for making a profit in the transfer market, two points:
1) Do you really think the board want to buy players who aren't successful? Of course they do, but it's not quite that easy to predict a player's future performance or worth when you sign him. Some are successful in that respect (Dean Ashton?), most are less so (any number of names will suffice) but that isn't just a Norwih phenomenon.
2) If we started making decent profits on players more often, the board would be slated as a 'selling club' with no ambition.
