Ok, for anyone who's ever worked in a commercial role or sold anything. NOT ALL DEALS MAKE SENSE. In my job I'm working on 5-10 deals at any one time. I know for a fact that only 2 or 3 of these will come off straight away, another few have half a chance and the rest have no hope even though they may appeare attractive at first sight. Delia and the board will only do what's best for them first and the business after, like it or not they are in control, they provided the initial investment and they will make the decision. it's clear that Cullums offer does not stack-up either benefically for Delia and MJW or the club. This may be a stalling tactic and both parties can continue to negotiate away for the press and allow GR to continue recruiting players or it may mean no deal unless Cullum stumps up more cash. The conversation probably went " up the offer to ?56m (ish) or we will go public with no deal, Cullum say's no go public, board says are you happy to endorse that", Cullum says yep, and we are back to square one.
