that's exactly what it is. When I were a lad the most common charge levelled against black players was that were all lazy, so making the same charge against a black player now does have connotations of which you yoofs are unaware.
I presume though, that the suggestion that we have been calling Damo fat is some Everton style joke, since the bloke clearly has a superb physique.
