Re Doc signing for 2 years

He might be low quality, but at present we only have Shack as an alternative. It'd be mad to have to replace him as well.

Also, if he didn't sign, he was free to walk for nowt. Roeder could well get in sufficient replacements now, in Jan or next summer and we could flog him. Surely he's worth 5-600 grand to someone? Ex premier defender etc etc.

As it stands we have one less player that we urgently have to buy/loan
