Seriously, it depends what you want.

If you want a fairly static website with a few pages, each with some text, pictures, links, and that, then the easiest way is to "become a code geek". It's actually very very easy to do this sort of thing yourself.

If you want to get a bit more complex, for instance if you want to do a regular blog sort of thing, then you can easily do that on one of any number of third-party blog sites and link to it from your own website if you want to.

However, if you want something a bit more personal but still a bit jazzy, and you can't be arsed with all the techy stuff, then my first answer stands: you pay someone like me to do it for you.
