It sounds like a storm about nothing

If I remember rightly, about 10-15 years ago Chris Cairns set off for a quick single in an ODI in NZ and promptly ruptured knee ligaments. As he lay in the middle of the wicket, the opposition (Sri Lanka?) fired the ball in and whipped off the bails.

The only comment made was that it rather added insult to injury. I don't remember any other fuss about it.
