My theory is that Blackpool are trying to disguise the fact that they negotiated an awfully low release clause into Hoolahan's contract...

If we sign both players, to the outside world it looks like we're paying £250k and Gilks for Hoolahan, and then £600k for Gorkss, but really we'll have paid £250k for Hoolahan, and £600k plus Gilks for Gorkss.
