Oh, and how does one gel players BEFORE pre-season?

Pre-season is used to gel the players. Before pre-season they're all away and I think it would be an infringement on people freedom to choose who they spend their spare time.

Unless you imagine Clingan turning up unannounced at a villa in Spain the day after he signs with a bucket and spade tucked under his arm asking Mrs Drury if Mr Drury can come and play down the beach?
