Correct

I once put 10p into a space invaders machine and got thrown out of the arcade two hours later still on the same game, with a big crowd of kids watching.

This was proper space invaders, with the buttons (the ones with handles were rubbish) where you shot 23 (?) times to get 300 on the space ship, and then 15 (?) times after that to get the next 300 score. I think it was 6 sheets to clear before they re-started back at the top again.
