Agree the timing is a problem

but thats partly the club's problem. I think it was clear to most of us fairly early on in preseason that Francis wanted to leave and would have to do so, but the club seemed to be in denial for too long. Probably was a bargaining play but allowing it to get so close to the start of the season was a bit of a risk (though of course no-one knows what we would have got if we'd tried to get it sorted earlier - we presumably thought the potential financial gain was worth the risk). Easy to comment with hindsight I guess...
