the club
Roeder keeps us up and is applauded from all angles. He then releases Huckerby and the wave of abuse on here was astonishing, especially when you consider Huckerby wasn't even in the frame for pots, and a lot of our results and points were achieved without him in the side
When you add up the sums, Roeder hasn't done anything wrong in both situations
Over this summer, he's thrown out a load of the backroom staff, something which has been documented on here with a lot of opinions questioning whether he knows what he's doing
Again, the people he has got rid of, are they indispensible? What have they achieved in the last 5-10 years?
Surely it's a good thing to start a fresh and start a new era?
We'll have to wait on the signings, and the results. I guess if they don't come then Roeder's at fault because he got rid of the backroom staff
I guess if we win the first 5 games we can look back and finally see what a good, organised difficult job he's doing
Either way, the conclusion is he hasn't done it with a great deal of faith from the fans, and that's what I'm getting at. The boos at half time when it's 0-0, the nostradamus interpretations from after match interviews (when often people are over excited and irrational, not clear thinking), and the steady rise to "should we protest?", which hasn't been an uncommon theme here since about 2005
I reckon success will come here when the hatchet is buried by everybody. I've always said that
If we can get through this season and accept Roeder, then we have some continuity back at this club, and that will be the biggest achievement of this season, as we can then focus on going forward
